Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I am receiving calls from a credit collection company wanting to serve me papers, I don't live in California, where they are located, how can they serve me? Company is Asset Management. They left a message with my wife and asked if I would be home from 10-5 tomorrow, she told them to call me.

they can hire local lawyer..but do not benefit by cooperation as that company buys old debts even when not owed..
