Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Recieved court papers

I received court papers to go to court in regards to an old credit card account I had years ago. Do I need to higher an attorney? I don't have much money and am trying to save up money because I am pregnant and trying to get ready for medical bills. Will they set up payments with me to pay back or will they try to take property that I own? Will they take half of what I owe if I have half of the full amount with me? Is this considered a misdemeanor or what is this catagorized as? I am very scared, I am not sure what to expect...please help.

Re: Recieved court papers

If you want to contest this case (and you mght be able to win if they filed their lawsuit too late), Then you should hire an attorney. It might be less expensive than the other alternatives you are considering.
