Recieved a judgment letter

My truck was repoed in 2004,never heard a word until the other day i recived a judgment . Then the attourney called wanting to set up payments for the balance. What sould i do? The payments are more than i can pay, im not working because of medical problems and may never be able to work. I recently married will my husbund be liable for this old dept? The judgment is from louisiana i live in texas now. Please advise?

First, I doubt seriously that what you received is a "judgment" letter. You either received a demand letter or you were served with a lawsuit. No judgment will be entered until the judge says so and the Plaintiff must prove its case. I would find out from a Louisiana lawyer what the statute of limitations is in Louisiana because it may have run. In Texas, the statute of limitations for suit on a debt is 4 years. Your husband should not be liable for the debt. If it Is a judgment, they can't get blood from a turnip, as the saying goes. If you don't have the money to pay, you don't have the money to pay.
