Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

repo and credit issue

In a nutshell, I voluntarilly surrendered my truck in June 2001. The lendor, GMAC, took possession and sold the truck. They have charged off the account but to the tune of $18K which was not the fair market value of the truck and same 18K is listed on credit report which I believe under Texas law is contrary to published practices. In addition, according to Texas law I believe, I was not notified of where the auction was so I could attend it to ensure the truck was being sold at value properly. Can this blemish be removed due to GMAC not following protocol? Do I stand the chance now of having a lien placed against my house if I rock the boat? Thank you for your time!

Re: repo and credit issue

See a lawyer! If GMAC didn't dot all their i's and cross all their t's, the repo may have canceled the outstanding balance.
