Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

repo truck

Could not afford a truck.Gave it back to company where we bought it. They sold it for less than its value. Now they are trying to force us to pay the difference. Threating law suit. We earn $9.00 an hr. Cannot afford to. What can we do?

This is not uncommon...the seller is normally not the lender..and unless the Truck was misrepresented..they have a legal right to collect..however, you would be best advised to let them sue, if they get a judgment they cannot take your home, furniture other cars etc..but can garnish your bank account(not your wages) if they know where you bank...don't worry...if you have nothing, they can get nothing..and they cannot put you in jail for not paying.
