Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

repossession under my name by ex-girlfreind

I was informed today that the car, a 2002 Lancer, that is under my name was repo'ed today. My ex girlfriend had the car to take my 4 year old son to school and Dr.s appointments, etc.. She has had the car for about 3 years. What can I do? Can I offer to pay all those costs and keep the car? Can I sue the ex with any of this? My credit is now shot and I am in the process of looking at a home today with my new wife of 2 1/2 years. ANY ADVICE WILL HELP.

If the car was bought and financed in your name, you have every right to try to negotiate the pay-off.

Call them and see if you can get the car back, and pay it off. They may be agreeable, but they're not legally required to do so.
