Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Repossession Reinstated

February 2007 my truck got ''repossessed''. The truck was returned within 72 hours because all fees were paid in full. I completed the rest of my lease with that same lender, which was another 12 months. However I just tried to get another vehicle and I have a repossesion on my credit report for that very same vehicle. Can I get that removed from my credit? If so how long will that take? If not, what else can be done? I feel like I'm paying twice for the same mistake.

Re: Repossession Reinstated

First you need to dispute it in writing with all three credit reporting agencies, also sending to the finance/lease company who reported it. If it is not removed, then you have a claim against the company who reported it.
