Who Is Responsible

There was a fund-raiser approved by the school where I am employed. I signed the delivery receipt.

The company and the school says I am responsible for the outstanding balance since I signed the delivery receipt. Who is responsible for the outstanding balance. Me or the school for which it was ordered?

The school is responsible for the debt. To say that the foreman on a loading dock is responsible for the company's debts simply because he receives the goods isn't correct.
