restaurant charges

Can a restaurant charge late? The restaurant I usually eat at charged me on all 3 of my business [credit card] accounts about 14 times on one day. When asked they said they could not charge me any money as their credit machine was broken the month before so they are recharging everything this month (on 3 separate credit cards all on one day).

Are they duplicate charges, or did the original charges never go through on your accounts. If you were charged only what you owed them, then they would probably prevail.
