Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
ruin credit
I've been married for only six months and my spouse wants to ruin his credit. I am not joined on any of his credit cards. I can't stop him from doing this, but can this affect my credit in the future?
I've heard it can. That's why I need some legal advice. Please help!!!!!

Re: ruin credit
Yes it can ruin your credit. Debts created during the marriage are community debts, and you are jointly and severally liable to repay those debts. If not repaid, it will affect both of your credit standings.
It is my opinion that more marriages are ruined by money issues than any other cause. If you are planning to grow old together, please drag your husband to financial marriage counseling. Without sound and grounded advice, this could get much worse, long before it gets better.
