Settlement of Judgements

My husband has a judgement from Unifund for 15,000 in tx. Will they settle for less than what is owed?

Based on what you have written, it would depend upon what type of judgment was issued by the court. Typically, collection agencies purchase accounts at an extremely discounted rate (e.g., pennies on the dollar) in the hopes that they will be able to collect above and beyond what the collection agency purchased the account for. Generally...give us more info and I will see if we could help...mainly you need a release to buy FHA ..and question..was it a default judgment..ie he did not appear but they just got a judgment? If so, we may get it released easier...but one needs facts to help
