Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

settlement/dismissal hearing

My mother received a letter from the county clerk notifying her of a dismissal court hearing that will be held on March 26 2009. It is regarding a debt due repossession of a vehicle. I contact the attorney suing to settle this matter and they sent my mother a letter that she has until March 31, 2009. The attorneys assistant says I have to file paper work at the court. What is the process for settlement? I call the court and they say I have to go through the attorneys. I have tried hiring getting legal consultation attorney but no one I call is available on such a short notice. Also, in the evidence presented in the petition there is not list of the costs incurred from the attorneys and the vehicle sold; no evidence showing the vehicle was sold at reasonable market value at the time of sale. I dont think my mother will be able to attend the dismissal hearing. Legally, how much time do I have to settle this if default judgment were granted?

Re: settlement/dismissal hearing

call us if you wish to discuss..it is too confusing from your question..but if not, try to have your MOTHER..not you, since you are not a lawyer,...send a denial of the debt to the Court..and ask for proof of the debt...
