Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

had a sheriff serve me some papers yesterday.it was a judgement for the sum of four thousand dallors.i think it was for a creit card i had along time ago..what can i do about it??i want to pay this but i dont have the money right now..is it possible to make a pament plan.how do i fix this problem?my wife is disabled and i am the only one that works right now.just started a new job.please let me know what i should do..

You should probably file an answer - very soon. But talk to a lawyer first, in case there's a jurisdictional/venue challenge you need to make first.

And pay a jury fee (it will be $5 - $30). Make them prove their case.
