Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I didn't sign

My husband aquired car insurance in the insurance office. I never signed the insurance forms but I am recieving collection notices and threats of posting on my credit. He is recieving nothing. The insurance company took it upon themselves to list me as the primary because I called and requested a quote for my husband. He is the one who went in and signed all the forms. Is this leagal.

Notify them in writing that the account belongs to your husband, and that you are uninvolved in the policy. Send it certified.

Practically speaking however, it doesn't make much difference, since insurance is usually considered a 'necessary' and you would be jointly liable. It is also a community debt.
