Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

signed health club contract under duress or pressure

I attended a health club under a free-week pass. On my 2nd day a salesperson approached me and pressured me into signing a contract. I tried to call and get out of the contract to no avail stating that I was pressured into signing. I never went back to the health club and the entire membership charge is on my credit. What legal terms or conditions can be used to get these people to remove this from my credit without having to pay for a membership that I never used?

Re: signed health club contract under duress or pressure

You would have to sue them in small claims court (I presume its less than $5000) and prove the duress or pressure. Usually, sales talk is not duress. Perhaps you could show that you were promised something that you didn't get. Either way, its a tough road. Maybe you could offer them something less than the full amount.
