Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
If I signed for my mother as her POA, an agreement that we would pay the fees to the facility where she was living and my mother has passed away and left only 1600.00 in her checking acct. with no other resources or estate am I liable to pay from my own pocket? Her balance is 9000. I was told POA obligations end at death.

You only have to pay if you agreed to do so individually. If you were on your mother's checking account and it was a joint checking account, then you should consult with an attorney before paying any of that money to the facility.
