co signing obligation

If a husband co-signs for daughter (who is married) to enable them to buy a house - is the wife obligated for this debt also?

Probably, because they look to the credit of the community estate. There would have to be language stating that they only look to the individual credit of the co-signer, and that would have to be specifically written in.
