Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

small claims jcourt

I had a judgment filed against me in the amount of 1,500. However, I wont pay this. I have learned that a judgment is only a piece of paper and that actual funds are hard to collect. should I just let this sit since it will go way eventually? Are there any loopholes to keep my money from my ex? how long/hard is the process to collect on a judgment?

A judgment is valid for 10 years. After that, it can be renewed for another 10 years.

Your exempt property is protected (except from child support, IRS and student loans), however, your bank account is not.
