Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

My son was served papers stating he was being sued by a credit card company he defaulted on six years ago. the $200.00 he owed has become over $1300.00. It says if he does not respond within 20 days a default judgement may be taken against him. What could happen if he does not respond? Can he be arrested?

If he hasn't paid in over four years, he should file an answer and plead limitations.

But before he does anything, he should contact a lawyer; he may be able to contest jurisdiction.

No, he won't be arrested.
