Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Statute of Limitations
What is the statute of limitations for an attorney to collect his fee from me. Are each of the monthly invoices for services that I have recieved considered separate for the purposes of the limitation. I have been making weekly payments to this attorney but he nows wants the entire payment and is threatening to sue.

Re: Statute of Limitations
In Texas, the statute of limitations for any debt is four years from the date the debt became due and unpaid. A good case could be made for each month's charges to advance the limitations for that month, with payments made being allocated to the earliest, unpaid charges.
