Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Statute of limitations

I filed for divorce and my papers state 02/29/00 and I have debt that was divided. I have waited for him to pay this and finally turned to filing in civil court. Is there a statute of limitations on the time I have to file from the date of the divorce decree? I don't understand a judge has already ordered it doesn't it stand? If you could also point me in the right direction so I can print that statute

Re: Statute of limitations

If your ex is not in compliance with the order, you will have to file a motion for enforcement and seek a finding of contempt. Just because you have language in your divorce decree, doesn't mean it's automatic. You should see the lawyer who handled your divorce for you.
