Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

subject civil law summary jugment

I am being sued. They are requesting a summary jugment. I wish to stop or post pone the summary jugment, so that I can file a motion for discovery. I need the medical chart to answer their law suite. How do I stop or post pone the summary judgment?

The suing party, plaintiff, less than a month before the filing of the summary judgment changed the amount for which they were suing. I need some time to make a discovery motion.
