Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Being Sued by Citibank

I have to submit a written statement to the court stating my side of the case. Is there any specific information I should include within this statement?? Is there a specified length?? Also, what happens after I submit my statement?? I turned my debt over to a Financial Service for help on settling. Will the judge take that into consideration?? I have no job and am extremely worried as to what the outcome will be.

Thanks for any help!!!

Re: Being Sued by Citibank

If you owe the money, you owe the money. If their accounting is incorrect, you should state that their account is not correct.

The worst thing that can happen is that they take a judgment against you. They can't take your home, your vehicle, your kitchen requipment, your household furnishings, the tools of your trade, insurance, or retirement accounts. They can't garnishee your wages when you go back to work.

Your credit already has a black mark against it from Citibank showing the debt sent for collection. Try calling the lawyer that filed the lawsuit and find out what the problem is with the financial service, and what might you be able to do to resolve the matter.
