being sued
i am being sued over an old credit card bill in small claims court. what can they do to me.

These kinds of lawsuits are very defensible if you hire an attorney experienced in them. Often they don't have the documentation necessary to prove the case. Also, the statute of limitations for suit on a debt is four years; if they are suing beyond that, you have a claim against them for a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
