Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

i am being sued by a credit card company. Received summons in October. I filed an answer with the court in the alotted time. Answered the interogatories and sent those to the company that is suing. About two months passed. Received a court date set for in September. Now two days ago a got a letter from a 'mediator" saying to send him 3 dates I am available in April to go to mediation. What is this? I am in Texas.

Mediation is a way to make a decision without going to trial. It is often ordered by a judge.
