Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Being sued over credit card debt.

Due to circumstance beyond my control in 2005 I had to stop payment of all my credit cards. Things have gotten worse even now money wise. I am on disability at 60% of my former wage and can barely make ends meet. I am being sued for a 3500 credit card debt. I go to court in about 30 days. I cannot afford a lawyer, so what am I to do.

Re: Being sued over credit card debt.

Stay home and let them take a judgment unless you have oil wells, money market accounts, valuable paintings or other real property other than your homestead. Sounds like you have nothing to satisfy any judgment against you, so quit worrying about it. Worrying is not going to pay anything and there is nothing else they can do to you. Concentrate on the the things closer to you and the quality of your life. good Luck.
