Being sued by credit card co. I must respond to Original Petition & Request for Admissions

Generally, you have 21 days after you're served to file your answer (to the lawsuit itself). If you're a few days late, they probably WON'T jump in and take a default judgment.

The request for admissions was served on you with the petition; you have 50 days to respond to that. Your answers don't have to be sworn, but they have to be in writing. Be sure to send your answers to the lawyer who signed the petition; you don't send them to the Court.
