Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Being sued by debt collector

I have been working with a debt reduction agency to try and eliminate my debts. One of my creditors sold off my debt to a debt collector who is a lawyer. The agency which represents me has made several offers to this debt collector which he has rejected, and now that lawyer has sued me. At this point I am at a loss... Despite him having a copy of the power of attorney the agency has over me, he has refused any negotiations. What are my rights if this goes to court?

Re: Being sued by debt collector

You can raise any defenses you may have to the debt. Remember, "I don't have the money..." is a reason, but not an excuse.
