Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Ive been sued and need help.

Can I pay off the credit card debt before the case goes to court. At this stage an answer is not even due yet. Do I pay the creditor's attorney or the creditor? Do I need to file an answer if I pay it off? I can not afford an attorney so I will have to file an answer on my own. I really need some direction here. Thank you.

Work with the creditor's attorney!

You'll have to file an answer, if you've been sued, to avoid having a default judgment taken against you. Just make sure you send a copy of the answer to the attorney as well.
