Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Suing for debt

If someone is sued for a credit card bill, what options do they have for recourse? The original debt is 1200, now they want over 5000. My friend was served a few days ago, being sued by the collection agency used by her visa credit card company. Should she seek an attorney, or how does she need to respond to this citation?

Re: Suing for debt

There are defenses to these type lawsuits. It is recommended that your friend hire a lawyer who is experienced in defending these cases.
