Ticket on my credit?

I just got a letter from a school stating that I have a parking citation due with them. I called them and told them that I never received any ticket for parking at an unauthorized parking spot. However, they are threatening to put the ticket as collection on my Credit report and ding my credit. Can they do that?

Get the ticket to see why you haveone...yes...they can if you do not defeat the claim
