Time Court Allowed To Set Trial

I'm the defendant in a civil suit. How long does a justice court have to set a trial date on the docket? (Dallas County, TX, filed Sept. 1997). Will the case be dismissed without predjudice if there is an error at court in not setting it timely? Thank you!
