Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I am a chiropractor, i took on a personal injury case, i got an L.O.P. and filed a UCC lein,the case took several years and the bill was over 8,000. the attorney got the money from the insurance co., paid the patient and himself, we got nothing. patient spent the money, and has said they will go bankrupt. insurance co. said the lawyers power of attorney trumps us and lawyer refuses to return our calls. what's next, who should we be going after for the money. do we need to hire an attorney

both the patient and the attorney owe you..but contact a local collection attorney ..
