Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Unknown dept aquired by wife

Don't know for sure but may be heading to divorce court soon. I've found evidence that my wife has several credit cards I knew nothing about. My guess is she's charged them up to a hefty sum and probably only making the minimum payment. She's got no clue about interest, etc., but knows I would be totally against it.

I wound up having to pay a couple of credit cards off in my last marriage and don't won't to have to do it again.

Is there anything I can do now that says I'm not responsible for this debt? Can I call and cancel them if not?

You can send each of them a letter, certified mail, return receipt requested, asking that if your name is on the account, to remove it, that you never applied for the credit card, never used it, and are not responsible for any charges on the credit card. I would send it to the address for billing disputes, not the regular address where bills are sent.
