Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Vehicle Repo

My vehicle was repossessed due to inability to pay. It has since been auctioned off. Now the creditor wants to garnish my wages and serve me with a citation of summons.

Can my wages be garnished. Need help quickly please.

I am also licensed in TX, and here is a brief answer: Texas generally does not allow wage garnishment in this situation. Your wages lose their exemption as soon as you cash your paycheck, however. If your creditor sues you, and obtains a judgment, it is possible for them to put an attachment on your bank accounts to collect non exempt funds.
