venue on contract law

I would like to know if you can be sued outside the state a contract was signed in? and if they can attach anything to your bank account or take anything from you the amount Im being sued for is $3500.00

Re: venue on contract law

The general rule of venue is that the Defendant (you) has the right to be sued in the jurisdiction of his residence, i.e. in your county. If the judgment is taken against you and properly recorded and executed, your property exempt from enforcement by creditors may be seized by the sheriff.
