Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Wage garnishment

Hypothetical ?

If I currently own a house in Texas (a non-wage garnishment state) and move to Ohio and am unable to sell my house in Texas and can't afford to pay two house notes and let the house in Texas be foreclosed on, what likely will be the creditor course of action? Can they garnish my wages in Ohio for something purchased in Texas?

Re: Wage garnishment

Sure can. Once they get judgment against you they can enforce it where you are located.
