Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
will they come after my husband's money?
Hi
I've been sued by Visa Citibank. I accepteed the credit card in 1966. I had perfect credit up until Nov/2003 when I lost my job (). I worked w/ a credit coundeling agency f/5 0r 6 mths. I keept making payments w/money I had saved. I haven't worked ever since, my husb. supports me but he's not willing to pay my debt. It's dificult to get a job because my husb. does not compromise to help watch, pick up or dop off my four y/o son. The house is under both my hub.& my name. I have a 1997 small car under my name. 1-Will they take my car away? 2-Wil they make my husb. pay the debt? 3-Will i go to jail? What can they do me or my husb.?
Thank You for your time

Re: will they come after my husband's money?
1. The debt is a community debt, and they can look to your husband as well as to you.
2. They can't take your car.
3. They can't put you in jail.
4. They can sue you for the money you owe, get a judgment, and have that shown on your credit report. If they can find a bank account, they can seize it.
