Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
I work at a convience store. A local came in and wrote a 450.00 check to the store for 100.00 worth of murchandice, and 300.00 in cash. Our standard practice is to do this for the local community. It turned out later that the customers grandpa, whose account the check was on, is dead. The store is taking the 450.00 out of my paycheck, and pursuing criminal charges on the writer. Can they legally hold 450.00 from my pay?
