Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
in 1992 i was convicted of sexual assault and was sentenced to 5 years, i was required to register as a sex offender during this time, my parole ended may 1997 and i didnt have to register anymore.
3 days ago i went to get a city permit to pass out flyers and was told by detectives that i have to reregister for life i am shocked i havent registered for 10 yrs.
i live in texas is there anything i can do about this a response would be greatly appreciated

In Texas there is lifetime registration for all adult sex offenders. If you were ever required to register, for a sexual assault conviction in Texas you will be required to register for life.
