Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
On 3/22/2013; I went to my mailbox and recieved a letter from Jackson County sheriff department stating that I need to be at the Jackson County Courthouse on 3/27/2013 to appear before the Jackson County Grand Jury for charges of "Delivery of Controlled Substance PG1>1G<4G-Drug Free Zone" Not knowing what this meant, I immediately went to the sheriff department to have this all explained to me. But to no avail I was only told to attend this cause or a warrant would be issued for my arrest. I am "dazed, losted and confused" for I have not been "ANY" confortations or infractions with law enforcement since I moved here over a year ago. I don't use drugs; and God Forbid never sold drugs! This is the only notice I've recieved; never arrested or aproached by law enforcement concerning this until I recieved this notice in the mail yesterday! What must I do?

You need to hire a lawyer immediately who can look at whether you are a target or a witness. It could be that there is something that you are not connecting that occurred that makes you a witness, but you need to have a lawyer consult with the prosecutor to determine what is going on.
