Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My 16 year old daughter became pregnant by a 21 year old man and had the baby. My question is can I still file statutory rape charges against him? She told him she was pregnant and he left her saying he didn't want to have anything to do with her or the child. I didn't file charges at the time because she was pregnant and upset beyond consolation, I didn't feel the need to bring undue stress on her. now he has came back into the picture taking her to court for a paternity test..can i file rape charges at this point?

As long as the statute of limitations has not elapsed charges can be filled. Call the office of the district attorney in your county or the local police.
