My 17 year old daughter in Texas was with a girl that stole a $35 skirt. Both girls were ticketed for theft under $50. How should we procede?

You can hire an attorney to try and fight the charges. This is considered a Class C Misdemeanor in Texas. That means that there is a max fine of $500 and no jail time as a possibility.
If this is her first offense, the Prosecutor would likely offer a deferred adjudication.
