Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I am on 8 year deferred adjudication for a felony drug charge. How much time of the 8 years do I need to do before I qualify for early dismissal? Also can I petition for the record to be sealed at the same time?

Counties vary in their treatment of early termination. Generally, if you have completed one-half (more likely two-thirds), have paid all fines and costs, have completed all classes and community service; then ask your APO if he/she will recommend you for early termination. If not, you would have to hire a lawyer. Absent compelling circumstances, without the APO's support, the judge rarely grants an early termination. As for the nondisclousre, if you qualify, you will have to wait before filing.
