Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My 14 year old son snuck out of our house and went to his 13 year old girlfriends house while her parents were out. The father came home and caught them in his garage talking. He picked up my son by his neck & threw him across the room & proceeded to kick him in his ribs while yelling profanities & threats. He threw him a few more times and continued to kick him until my son landed outside on his feet and ran. I called the police and they took an incident report. He was not arrested because I did not know his name address or anything. They gave me the incident # and told me where to go to press charges. Do I have grounds for charges and what could he be charged with in the state of Texas?

You absolutely have grounds for criminal charges. The man can and should be charged with assault. While your son should not have done what he did, he had the permission of the daughter to be at the house. Your son should have the man's address, and the police can definitely get the address, go there, and get the man's name. I don't know why they didn't proceed when you first called them.
