Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
17 year old son
I have a 17 year old son, who soon will turn 18 in Sept. 09. He is currently dating a 15 year old girl. My son is allowed by her parents to spend the night at her house. I'm not happy and I'm very worried that they will have intercorse and that she might end up pregnant. My concern is what happens if he turns 18, she's only 15 and it does not work out between them. Can the mother as vendictive as she is call it rape or call the police on him? What are the legal rights for having consentual sex between these two, one a minor and teen adult?

Re: 17 year old son
As long as your son is not more than 3 years older than her, he should be fine. You can read the statute to make yourself more comfortable. Check out 22.011 of the Texas Penal code, focus on subsections (e) and (a)(2).
