Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I am 17 years old. Last night, I was with my 15 year old girlfriend out at around 1 AM. A policeman came over, told us to get out of the car, called my girlfriend's parents, and informed them that they could file charges of "solicitation of a minor." I was reading up on the Texas state law, and it seems to indicate that it is a defense if the meeting was consensual and I am less than three years older than her. Is this true? Is there anything else I can do?
