Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
When a 16 yrs old minor child committs fraud by changing the amount of a payroll check, what will the sentences be? This is first offence, is in high school doing well and attendancing every day.

The charge is likely to be theft and unless the amount is large (over $1500) then it will be a misdemeanor and prosecuted in juvenile court. If the kid is good as you represent, then it is possible to get her/him a deferred so that there is no final record. S/He needs a lawyer.
