Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

What do I do if someone accuses of fraud? I ask a friend to lease an apartment for me. I had to move before the lease was up. I let the friend know that I couldn't afford the rent so I had to move. I let the office know they in turn told me to put my leaving in writing before thirty days of my leaving and did so with the permission of my friend. So now a police officer called me stating that he was investigating a fraud case concerning that unit.

First, renting an apartment for someone else is fraudulent, as is having someone rent an apartment for you. I would be surprised if the DA's office would accept fraud charges but you can expect that your friend's credit will be ruined unless the money is paid, and your friend could be sued.
