Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Do I need an actual lawyer to accept a plea bargain in court on my behalf?
I've got to make an appearance in court and can't be there or get the case reset. Do I need to hire an attorney or can I just have a friend accept the D.A.'s offer on my behalf?
Thank you for your time and response.

If this is at the county court or district court level and you are simply too busy to be at the court, I feel sure the judge will find some way to get your attention and that is not a good thing. Just expect a warrant.
You should hire a local lawyer.
